Just like many other festivals and cultural events, Twents Gitaarfestival opted for an online edition last year. But this year the festival will feature both live and online events on 22–24 October 2021, adopting some of the best new practices which have been developed during the COVID-19 lockdown. Twents will continue its outreach program and Guitar in the Classroom projects. The pandemic has compelled us all to find new ways to work and share our music and we have grown stronger through this experience. We are happy to announce that four EuroStrings Artists will attend the festival.

Marcell Nickmann and Ozberk Mirac Sarigul will start their festival adventure with solo and ensemble performances on Friday, 22 October as well as post-concert interviews in Vestzaktheater. On the other hand, Francisco Luis and Jack Hancher will play their solo concerts and in ensemble on Sunday, 24 October in Theater Mystiek. They will also give post-concert interviews. That same day Marcell Nickmann and Ozberk Mirac Sarigul will play at Guitar Builder’s Fair.

When it comes to masterclasses, EuroStrings Artists will learn from Anabel Montesinos on October 22nd in Kaliber Kunstenschool. The next day in the same place they will give masterclasses.

Each of the mentioned EuroStrings Artists will participate in outreach activities. Friday, October 22nd will be reserved for Francisco Luis’ concert in Villa de Maere, dementia home. Later that day Jack Hancher will visit Stevenfennehuis, home for the elderly. On Saturday, 23 October will do a Discovery Tour to the Guitar for children and parents. This tour will take place in Concordia Theater, while Marcell Nickmann will later visit De Boei Community Center. On the last day of the festival, Ozberk Mirac Sarigul will also have a chance to visit De Boei Community Center and wrap up the outreach program.
