Kasperi Leponiemi (London Guitar Festival)
Kasperi Leponiemi (1997) was born in Nokia, Finland. He started his guitar studies at the age of eight in Valkeakoski music institute, with Tomi Tolvanen as his teacher. Performing twice in Tampere Guitar Festival (2010 and 2012) with his siblings lightened Kasperi’s passion for guitar playing.
Kasperi Leponiemi is currently studying the third year in Sibelius-Academy with Andrzej Wilkus as his teacher. Kasperi Leponiemi has also studied four years with Janne Malinen in the Sibelius-Academy youth department and he has attended several master classes led by for example Leo Brouwer, Judicael Perroy, Ricardo Gallen and Lukasz Kuropaczewski.
Kasperi Leponiemi won the second prize in Tallinn international youth guitar competition 2013. In the year 2013, Kasperi Leponiemi received a grant from Finnish cultural foundation. The following year, he played as a soloist with Tampere philharmonic orchestra in the concert for young soloists. Recently Kasperi has been actively performing in Finnish music scene. He has played a couple of recitals in Finland and performed in various different concerts, especially in Helsinki, where Kasperi lives now.
Kasperi Leponiemi is the EuroStrings Scholarship Winner for the IGF’s London International Guitar Festival.
