Meet our scholarship winner:
Cosmin Mariciuc started his musical career as a hobby at the age 12, and at 15 he enrolled to the guitar class of professor Daniel Constantin Dragomirescu at the “Ciprian Porumbescu” Music High School in Suceava, Romania. After graduating high school he moved on to the “Gheorghe
Dima” National Music Academy of Cluj-Napoca, where he continues his musical studies under the guidance of dr. Comstantin Andrei and dr. Beke István Ferenc. He attended masterclasses with Álmos Tóth and Péter Girán where they shared a common passion for the flamenco music. Cosmin considers himself “in love” with flamenco, and among his favorite guitarists are amazing musicians such as Antonio Muñoz Fernández, Vicente Amigo, Grisha Goryachev and of course, Paco de Lucía. Besides his classical guitar studies, he also enjoys playing acoustic guitar too, especially modern fingerstyle music inspired by Sungha Jung, Jon Gomm, or Mike Dawes.
Cosmin Mariciuc plays a concert classical guitar made by Bosnian luthier Slavko Mrdalj and uses Savarez Strings.
